Counts are people detected arriving in small boats. They exclude arrivals hidden in vehicles or on larger vessels, and anyone who arrived undetected. An uncontrolled landing is a boat that reached the shore without being intercepted at sea.
Channel conditions use Open-Meteo wind and wave forecasts for the middle of the Dover Strait. Crossings cluster on calm days. This site rates conditions as calm (wind under 12 mph and waves under 0.5 m), moderate (wind under 18 mph and waves under 1 m) or rough. These bands are a rough guide, not an official forecast.
Each day's arrivals figure is usually published the following morning, so the latest day is normally yesterday.
